Scientific Annotation Middleware (SAM) v. 2.0 Support

Help installing SAM and the ELN

SAM and the ELN are being developed as part of a Department of Energy funded research project. To help iteratively refine the tools and to guide our future developments, we provide email support for installation and usage questions. Send you questions to our Collaboratory Support email address and we'll do our best to respond in a timely fashion. We appreciate any feedback you can give us regarding SAM and the ELN and how well they fit your needs. Please include details about your operating system, Tomcat, and browser versions, as well as any error messages from the software as appropriate.

Collaborations

The SAM project team is also very interested in helping others to explore the potential to enhance scientific research and science education through the use of annotation middleware and electronic notebooks. If you have or are contemplating a project for which SAM might be a useful technology, please contact Jim Myers, the SAM project lead.

Student Fellowships and Job Opportunities

The SAM project is being developed primarily at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Both sites have active programs in collaborative technologies and high-performance computing with opportunities to involve students and new staff at a variety of levels ranging from "Capstone" projects to fellowships and employment opportunities. Interested individuals are urged to contact Jim Myers or Al Geist for additional information.
