Collaboratory Servers

The EMSL maintains a variety of collaboration servers for use by its staff and their collaborators, as well as for limited public testing.

All of these servers are monitored on a regular basis to ensure their continuing availability. If you have trouble connecting to these servers, please contact our Help Desk.

CORE2000

CORE2000 is based on NCSA's Habanero. A CORE2000 Server is maintained on

escher.emsl.pnl.gov, port 2000

(The CORE2001 server on escher at port 2000 is restarted each day at about 10 PM Pacific Time.)

EMSL TeleViewer

The EMSL TeleViewer, a collaborative shared computer display tool, can be run as part of CORE2000 or CORE. If you wish to run the TeleViewer by itself, you can connect to one of our "eternal" TVServers that we maintain on escher.emsl.pnl.gov (ports 2990 and 2997) by starting your tv client with the following command line:

tv -p2990 -hescher.emsl.pnl.gov

-- OR --

tv -p2997 -hescher.emsl.pnl.gov

(These TVServers are restarted each Monday at about 10 PM Pacific Time.)

EMSL Electronic Laboratory Notebook

A listing of DOE2000 Electronic Notebooks shows notebook servers running at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Notebooks have been set up for public viewing and testing, use in active scientific collaborations, and internal development and testing.
